Watch Instructional Golf Videos

Now, to practice a smooth swinging motion, here is a similar drill. Again, put a ball down with a tee 12 inches behind. Bring the club back until it hits the tee but this time focus on swinging smoothly without pausing in your backswing.

The last of these putting drills is the distance control putting drill. Of course there are many drills out there but this one is probably the best. Put down 5 markers or tees, each one 4 feet apart. Place your ball next to the first marker and hit to each of the others in succession. Of course, wait for the ball to stop and take your time to set up on the ball each time.

Scheduling a lot of play time is not enough. Golfers benefit from reading books to expand their knowledge about the game and gain fresh ideas on how to improve their own game. If you do not like books, you can also watch instructional golf videos. There are a lot of excellent golf teachers and professional golf players out there that are making golf training videos.

Another way of increasing your mastery of the golf game is by observing players with a better golf score than you play, whether on TV or in the actual golf course. Try to notice even the slight differences in their play compared to yours. Be a sponge for successful golf swing and short game strategies you see in others and learn to make them your own.

It is important for your hips to smoothly and quickly rotate during the down swing while your head remains upright. And remember to increase the speed of your down swing as it get nears the golf ball or the impact zone.

By teeing it up you can hit the ball where the proper amount of loft is. If you have no clue what I'm talking about with loft, here is an example. An 8 degree driver that claims 8 degrees of loft does not keep this all over the face. This 8 degrees will occur in the sweet spot which is pretty small. The more you go up on the driver the more loft is added. The top of your driver could be something like 13 degrees of loft. If you go down or under the sweet spot the loft decreases.
