Keep the Club Face Straight

Being able to be yourself and 'play' golf is about making your day on the course a day of adventure. Do not focus on the score, comparing yourself to others, or working hard to make the perfect golf swing. Rather, enjoy being yourself and becoming one with your target! You will find that by allowing yourself simply to "play golf" will lead to not only a really fun and enjoyable day but also lower scores as well!

If you choose a putter that is aesthetically pleasing and feels comfortable when you make a few swings with new callaway RAZR X clubs then it will make you feel good and you will take this positive and confident feeling onto the putting green.

When on the driving range take a bucket of range balls and simply focus on dragging the club back low to the ground and focus on keeping the club face straight. Do not turn your wrist or hands! Once at the top of the swing simply cock your wrist in an upward motion causing a little hinge in your wrist.

The problem golf slicers have with adopting a weak grip is that the tendency is to turn the hands over into a more neutral grip position during the backswing. This opens the clubface up and makes it very difficult to return it to square during the downswing. The result is that you will be striking the golf ball with discount callaway razr x irons an open face which creates a golf slice.

The first area that you want to seek good golf putting instruction on is with your setup. Your putting setup is vital, because it will give you the basic foundations to develop a consistent and reliable putting stroke.

On the downswing focus on releasing the wrist early in the swing. What I mean by this is instead of trying to hit at the ball try to swing through the golf ball. Try to rotate the wrist before you make contact with the golf ball.

Consider Aiming Your Club and Body

There is a way to confirm that your posture is accurate. For our case, it is helpful to stand to one side in front of a full length mirror or to have a friend assist you to prove the proper posture.

When you tilt from your waist and unlock your knees, you will be able to intangibly draw a vertical line from your shoulder blade to the back of your kneecap, to the balls of your feet. Therefore, your shoulder blades, kneecaps, and balls of your feet should align.

An extra fine way to check your posture is to place a three or five metal on your back, running down the length of your spine. As you hold the club with your left or right hand, the callaway razr x irons will lie down against your spine and extend toward your head. In order to maintain the ideal posture, your back should align with the club shaft, and the shaft should come within a few inches of touching the back of your head.

Eventually the two rails visually merge into a single rail or single line. This is precisely the way you need to consider aiming your club and your body: They travel along different lines, but they eventually come together at a common destination.

A lot of time, effort and frustration can be saved. It has been said that all learning is trial and error. This is obviously true for golf. In fact, mistakes are absolutely necessary for discount callaway razr x irons learning. You can't know "right" without also knowing "wrong". Nothing, except ignorance, forces you stay at the same skill level or to constantly make big mistakes. The general benefit of following a few laws of motor learning is that you can systematically reduce both the number and size of your mistakes.

The greatest answer to provide is to return to your setup as if you were going to hit a ball. If you play right handed, take your left hand off the club and make a fist. For left handed golfers, construct a fist with your right hand. Position the top of the fist away from you and try to pass it through the space between the end of the club and your belt line.

Hitting the Ball Higher Requires More Swing Speed

Many times golfers feel that to hit the ball higher and shorter, that they must decrease their swing speed and as a result, they end up decelerating into the golf ball. This is actually the opposite of what you need to do to hit a good flop shot.

Hitting the ball higher requires more swing speed, think about when you hit a full shot versus a half shot, which one goes higher? More swing speed means more spin and a higher shot, resulting in a better flop shot.

There is no way you can consider this game a cheap one or an accessible one because the equipment is very expensive. You need gloves, clubs, a bag for the golf clubs and balls, all these costing about six hundred euros. Also, you need special clothes if you want to be thorough when it comes to the rules of this game. Although this sport is no longer considered a sport for nobles, you still need to have certain pieces of clothing.

Of all the basic golf chips, this is the chip that ends up with the longest roll on the green. It is used when you have a large distance from the flag stick to your current location. Some experts say you can time your low chip shot to spend about half the time in the air and the other half to roll on the green. Common callaway razr x irons used for low chipping include the five or six irons and other mid-irons.

So practice these golf drills to get your body in tune with the movements of a perfect golf swing. Make your mind focus on each move to build better motor memory. It won't be long before you will see improvements in your golf score.

To hit the ball higher you must open the callaway razr x irons for sale, for a flop shot you should open the it to about 60 degrees. But to make use of the open club face, you must accelerate through the ball and keep the it open on the backswing as well as the follow through.

Acceleration will help you hit the ball higher and keeping the golf club open through your follow through will help prevent rolling your wrists and closing the face through impact.

If You Are a Right Handed Player

Even though the wrists and forearms rotate, your upper arms and shoulders should remain virtually stationary. The first stage of the drill demonstrates what comprises a proper wrist cock. Keeping the hands in front of your belt buckle, and the toe end of the club pointed away from you, gradually raise the club head toward your nose.

Notice that your wrists work like hinges, allowing you to raise and lower the discount callaway razr x irons using only the hands, wrists, and lower arms. Raise and lower the club as many times as it takes to get a feel for cocking and releasing your wrists.

The more effective golf swings are done on a single plane. This next golf drill will help you accomplish this by improving your arm rotation.

When the club starts down and forward, you want your forearms to rotate and your wrists to unhinge naturally. If you are a right handed player, it is crucial that you do not force the club down with the right hand. Likewise, left handed golfers must not force the club down with the left hand. Remember, this needs to be a relaxed action. All you want to do is brush the tee, not produce callaway razr x irons for sale speed.

So without any golf club, get into a golf stance at address. Your weight should be balanced equally on both feet. Next, let your arms fall down naturally and then bring your hands together palm-to-palm.

Place the three tees in the ground in a line, with just about six inches between each tee, but do not put balls on the tees. The tees would stick no more than half an inch out of the ground. Next, gripping the seven-iron, set up to the first tee as if there were a ball on it. Get the club back to parallel position just as you did in the first drill, and make sure that your forearms rotate, the wrists cock, and the back of the left hand and club face pointing away from your body.

Makes Contact With the Golf Ball

This is so because a good chip is a combination of time spent in the air and how well the ball rolls towards the hole. The club to be chosen will also be dependent on the hill situation. For instance, the club used in a downhill descent will be different from that used in an uphill situation.

Before we start, please bear in mind that there are chips that are available to make you closer to the green. Using just one technique is not an assurance to get near the green. Your talent in chipping must be accompanied by the cooperation of the grass, distance from the hole, as well as the green itself.

Hitting the golf ball far is highly dependent on how well you hit the ball and what portion of the club face delivers the hit. Control your swing to make sure that you hit the ball with the centre of the new callaway RAZR X clubs. This way, you will deliver maximum power to the ball as opposed to hitting the golf ball with just the tip of your club face. The key to achieving this is to keep your club face slightly open throughout the swing until it makes contact with the ball.

All putts are straight putts... you don't try to hook or slice a putt into the hole. Therefore your first learning task is to master the skill of hitting a fundamentally sound, mechanically repeatable, straight 10' foot putt. From this basic skill, other skills (reading breaks, controlling speed) are added like ornaments to a Christmas tree

Once you have assessed the length of the putt, make a backswing that is appropriate for the putt. Take a short swing for a short putt and a longer swing for a putt of longer distance.

I know the amount of swing I need for 5 feet putts and 10 feet putts, so I adjust accordingly whenever I need to putt a distance in callaway razr x irons. You might want to do the same. Develop the feel for 2 distances first, one short putt and a longer one.
You also want to take note of the speed of the green and see if you have a sloping putt. The same amount of swing will cause the ball to roll a farther distance on a fast green and shorter on a slow green. In addition, a downward putt requires a shorter swing to reach the hole while an uphill putt needs a longer one to travel up the slope.

Similar to the Putting Stroke

Let us begin with the standard chip. This shot is played when you are close to green but not on it. To be more effective, you should use a nine-iron club. The ideal hit for a good chip is to fly one-third above the cup then role approaching the green. Your position to effectively make this shot is to stand straight holding the club face square.

Although the golf chipping is a short stroke similar to the putting stroke, but unlike the golf putting, you need a lofted callaway razr x irons to enable you to send the ball into the air in a low trajectory, before it hit the putting surface and roll into the hole. The idea is to assess the distance the trajectory of the ball will cover to the landing point on the green smooth surface.

In every sporting competition there are certain goals that the players hope to attain. Football has the touchdown, basketball has the slam dunk, and baseball has the home run. Each one of these is a sweet achievement to get during the game. Golf is no different than these sports. Most people realize that they won't hit a hole in one in golf. That leaves the monstrous 300 yard drive as the crowning achievement for all golfers. In this article I will talk about the 300 yard drive and how you can get it during your round.

There are a number of other training aids available as well. Some of these would include: A swing fan, swing chains,
discount callaway razr x irons
donut, and an impact bag. I haven't used any of these so I am not sure how well they work. I have used the two methods above that I gave descriptions about and I know for sure that they work.

Have you taken the time to really evaluate what your wrists and arms are doing during your swing? Are you flipping your wrists? This seems to be a common problem. Ideally, the back part of your wrists will have wrinkles due to the way that your palm is facing the ground and you will find that your club has to lean forward to obtain this position.

Your Golf Back-Swing is Not Going Up

Once you can start slowing down the slice, you will notice much more confidence and have the ability to drive the ball better. Try out these small tips and hopefully they will help you lower your scores.

The only issue with this kind of putter is that, due to the longer shaft and the larger grip, the amount of feel the golfer can ascertain from the shot is reduced. Compared to a conventional callaway razr x irons, the belly putter is not as intuitive or easy to use but can give a better shot. It will also be harder for the player to control the amount of distance the ball travels when using a belly putter. However, with enough practice, these issues can be overcome.

If you are just starting out, you should definitely play with a standard conventional putter. Also, many golf teachers agree that this is the easiest kind of putter to play with and should be used if possible. It is also recommended that your putter be slightly shorter than your standard woods and irons.

For those who are interested in improving their overall new callaway RAZR X clubs, taking advantage of all of the chipping tips can be found is essential. You will want to make sure that you are doing everything you can though to make sure that the hints and tips are you are accepting are of quality. This does not mean that you can't let your father or brother talk to you about the chipping tips they have. After all, you just never know what incredible source they got their information from.

To get started though, you may want to try making sure that your back-swing is not going up too much or that the shaft is not turning or twisting clockwise. Not many people realize that the back-swing, along with
discount callaway razr x irons
other things have a lot to do with the slice.

So now that you know your slice, how do you fix it? A push slice means that your swing path is going from the inside to the outside. This is the normal path for someone that would draw the ball. However, you are leaving your face wide open.

A Good Golfer Will Develop a Good Putting

There is a big difference between good and bad putting techniques. A good golfer will develop a good putting stroke and then never change it. They also know how to estimate the speed and feel of the shot, focussing on the correct line the ball should take and the stroke. They are also confident in their ability to sink a putt that will win them the game.

In comparison, a poor putter is the opposite of this. They change their stroke all the time, are not convinced of their ability and do not concentrate on the speed, line and flow of the shot.

Pre-putt fundamentals directly affect the mechanics of the stroke. Our goal is to use the more consistent shoulder and arm stroke technique. When greens maintenance equipment produced more
callaway razr x irons for sale
consistent putting surfaces, "handsy" putting pretty much died! There are fundamental things we can do to simplify and better, yet effortlessly, control the motion of our body, our arms and the putter. We want to create a balanced, square, "Monkey Arms" position.

The first goal for you to improve your game is for the swing to connect with the ball in the same manner, on the same spot, every time.

It is not enough to simply go to practice and just start hitting balls. There are a lot of basics to consider and give
discount callaway razr x irons
attention to if you are going to be a better golfer. Yes, this is one of those, "You can't run before you walk" comparisons because essentially, you cannot properly hit a ball before you master the basics.

If you are a beginner, you may need to fool around with different grips to see which one is comfortable to you. If you have new callaway RAZR X clubs been playing for a while, you should still examine your grip before you swing. Is it neutral or do you have a death grip on it? If you do, you are probably slicing the ball to the left with every swing you do. Loosen up your grip!

With every practice swing you take, you should be evaluating every single inch of your body and how it is lined up to both your ball and your target. You should be to the left of your target, unless you are left-handed, in which case you will be the right.

The Golf Ball Should Be Placed

If that tip doesn't work, we will need to try something else. But first let's try to identify your swing path. We will use these keys, to help you identify your path. Take an iron and make sure to take a divot. If your divot looks like this then you have an out - in path. If its straight like this | then you have an in - in swing. Finally if it goes like this you have an in - out swing. So remember that when we talk about this next section.

Your hand placement on the shaft also plays an important discount callaway razr x irons role in curing the slice. Your stance must be normal, grip gentle and eyes on your hands. To concentrate, look down at two knuckles of your left hand (for right handed golfers).

Trepidation - we've all been there, you're on the first tee with a group of strangers behind waiting to tee off. The only thought in your mind is 'oh my god, I just hope this goes straight and reasonably long'.

Don't worry this is natural, none of us want to be seen as duffers or hackers. When this happens, and it will happen, you'll be pleasantly surprised at the reactions. Nobody will be rolling around on the ground holding their ribs, in fact you will get positive comments to spur you on.

Next, you should focus on your grip. Your swing will be restricted if the club is clenched too strongly. Or the callaway razr x irons face will move to impact if held too weakly. For a better shot its necessary to have a control over your grip and adjust it on neutral.

Now let's focus in on how to hit it. Take your normal stance, I always like to open up my front foot a little more. The ball should be placed a little further back in your stance than normal. This swing is different than your normal swing. I call it my 90* or halfway swing. I'll take the club back for my backswing but stop when my left arm becomes parallel to the ground.

It is also equally important to make sure that you are focusing on your downswing as well. When you make sure that you are perfecting these parts of your game, you will find that your slice is so much better. Every improvement you make is going to help your overall game.

A belly putter allows the player to anchor the putter against the upper body, therefore allowing for more stability in the shot. The advantage of this is that the putter rests along the arms and into the belly or abdomen, which gives you more control. Find the Right Golf Swing Instructions

The mental and psychological activities in golf are usually and mostly required prior to and at the moment one hits the golf ball with a club. Many golfers term this period as "pre-shot routine". During the game but prior to making the winning club swing, the player should be relaxed both physically and mentally to ensure that the golf ball receives an accurate and sound swing from the club.

Find the right golf swing instructions - When you are learning the correct swing, it is imperative that you have good instructions. You can find instructions in a good eBook, guide, videos or even better, you can take lessons to help you learn correctly.

How to Hit Long Irons

How do you hit a pitch or a lob shot? The process is pretty simple. It is almost like a normal shot from the rough or fairway. The only difference is the distance. These shots are typically within 50 yards of the green.

The first thing I like to adjust would be my stance. I'm usually in favor of an open stance. This allows me to follow thru and control my swing. I will address the ball like I normally would. Then I would open up my left foot to create the open stance. My swing will probably be abbreviated because of the short distance.

It takes a lot of time and patience to improve your golf swing. It takes a lot of practice as well as patience if you want to hit those Long irons. There are a number of e books and tips you could find online which would help improve your golf swing, they would have tips which would improve your strokes with the 1 through 4 irons. These are usually considered the hardest to use and hit. No matter how many e books you may read there are a few basic tips which would help you hit long shots with ease and with confidence.

The main two golf techniques to try and master are the grip and the swing. The first area to try and perfect is the golf grip. Your grip is the only contact that you have with the new callaway RAZR X clubs, and the club is the only contact you have with the ball. The grip is the start of the process, the beginning link between you and the ball. If this link is weak, it affects the whole chain. Many people have their own preference when it comes to this technique; however there are two main points to consider when trying to master this area of your game.

This, like many golf techniques, is down to personal preference and comfort. There are several different grips used by players, some have their hands overlapping, which is the method most instructors teach as being the proper way of playing golf, however some players have their fingers interlocked. While it is a technique which is very popular with beginners, there are some very good players which use this technique.

Many people find that the easiest way to learn this golf technique is by watching others. In fact one of the greatest golfers of all time, Tiger Woods, has said on several occasions that he learnt how to play golf by watching his dad play and copying his golf techniques and then perfecting them.

A Point a Tiny Bit Ahead of the Golf Ball

What you accomplished: You learned how to hit the shots you need to get pars. Those will be the short shots and putts. Yes, your swing counts too, and you should work on that as well, but unless you can count on hitting a lot of greens, short shots and putting will get you as many pars as otherwise.

This can be a pretty tough concept and like most golfers, it is different for each person. There are a couple of different focus points. The first one would be to aim in front of the ball. I believe this one helps when you have trouble hitting it fat. Pick a point a tiny bit ahead of the ball with new callaway RAZR X clubs. When you swing you will be focused on this spot and you should start hitting it a lot cleaner.

You may think of a golf training program as a boot camp for golfers, providing you with a broad overview of the game. In reality, however, such a course actually provides you with very detailed information on one aspect of the callaway razr x irons. For instance, a single course may cover chipping while another may cover putting. Many people will take multiple courses to improve various aspects of their game.

Excellent Putting, of course, is not rocket science. The ball with
discount callaway razr x irons
is stationary and the stroke requires little effort. However, there is an Irish adage that says if you start wrongly, everything you do to make things better, makes them worse.

The swing is comprised of different components like the stance, the follow through, the power swing, and more. Each of the aids available today explore different aspects of the swing, and many offer step-by-step instruction on these parts of the swing. If you aren't sure which parts of the swing need work, ask a local golf pro to analyze your swing and offer some advice.

Take a Practice Golf Swing

Because you are rapidly hitting the ball from one marker to the next, you are able to strike the ball while the feel of the last contact is still fresh in your mind. This gives you an advantage over practicing putting the ball into the cup, walking over, picking it up, putting it back down and setting up on the ball again.

This sentiment is reflected in Lights-out Putting by Todd Sones. He explains that each element of the putting stroke is only as good as the elements that came before it. Unless your setup is correct, you will put in motion an unending chain of mistakes.

I get a feel for the speed of my back swing, and forward swing when I take my 1 or 2 practice swings before addressing my ball and hitting it. Many people just take a practice swing because they see professional golfers do it on TV, and they do not get any real value out of it. For me, I use my practice swings to think about tempo. I don't want to swing too hard and come out of shoes, but I have to swing hard enough to make the ball go the distance I want it to.

Maybe I only have 100 yards to the green, and I want to hit a knockdown wedge at 75%. If that is the case, my practice swings will be consistent with that thought. Your normal full swing should only be about 80-90% of what you are capable of producing.

This way you have a much better chance of controlling your swing. Very few amateurs or even pros for that matter can swing as hard as they are capable of swinging, and still maintain consistent control over their shots.

So how do you go about troubleshooting your golf game? Go back to your golf reference books to get a refresher course on the correct golf fundamentals. Check what improvements you can make in every aspect of your game, from your grip, to how you position your body at address, to how you body moves as you swing, and etc.

Always visualize your shot before making it, whether you are using your driver on a par 5 or hitting your 9 iron on a short par 3. Visualize the hole shot, the flight path and where

lands. Seeing the shot in your head will help you make the right club selection.

The answer is simple. The golf club, or club head, is what actually moves the ball. Therefore the club head must travel down the intended target line for an extended amount of time at impact. If the
callaway razr x irons for sale
head is crossing this line at impact, extra moves in the golf swing must occur in order to hit shots that are desirable. These extra moves are what causes the golf swing to be more complicated than it really has to be.

These are the two most vital things that has to be learned correctly from the beginning. Learning them incorrectly will prevent you from getting better at golf.

The Preferred Swing Path for the Golf Club

The secret to the set up position is to use a light grip on the golf club, like you would if you were holding a very small baby bird. You need to also check your hip and should alignment.

Set up such that your elbows are bent at a 45 degree angle to your biceps. You probably want to use a mirror for this. Your hands should hang loosely from your shoulders instead of feeling too cramped or outstretched. If there is insufficient angle in your elbows, your hands are too far away from your body or you might be gripping too far down on your putter.

The preferred swing path for the club is such that your left arm points 170 degree backwards and follows through 340 degrees. Always try to swing smoothly like a circle, with your head as the center of that circle. As the club head already has a loft built into its face, the ball will automatically go into the air on impact with the club head. The swing should build up in pace gradually from the initial starting movement of its backswing, through and immediately after impact.

To start downswing, shift weight to left, triggering chain reaction of hips, chest, arms and new callaway RAZR X clubs all pulling behind the ball. At impact, try to keep the head behind the ball as this helps maintain your swing plane and promotes ascending swing arc through ball contact.

It is especially important to keep your left arm straight from impact through release and avoid the dreaded left elbow breakdown (or "chicken wing") which causes a host of errant shots.

The last important thing to remember about this is that you want to bend from the hips and keep your spine straight. This will allow you to rotate around your axis, which is imperative to consistent golf shots.

Holding the Golf Club Exactly the Same Way

The baseball grip is, basically, exactly what it says on the tin. With this grip you would hold your club and make your golf swing by holding the golf club exactly the same way you would hold a baseball bat.

The trouble with this grip is that since both of your hands are not connected in any way, they can tend to act independently of each other and it is very difficult to produce a good golf swing consistently with this grip. Personally I would not recommend this grip and to the best of my knowledge, no professional golfer uses it.

The best place to start is to try and do as much research and learning without the help of paid support. In general, players can think back or even realise when they are playing, the part of the game that seems to be the problem. From here they can set up certain drills or practice routines which will help them to improve.

Consider having a few golf lessons for beginners. This will ensure you don't develop bad habits which will be hard to correct later. One-on-one training is excellent as the trainer can concentrate on you as an individual. You will learn everything about this great game, even golfing etiquette. When you are more confident you can have your own customized callaway razr hawk draw driver made. They are worth the expense and can vastly improve your game.

If there's anything to pick up from this, it's to realize that everything has a cost. You can get power, sure, but it might cost you your back and your winning streak. If it isn't broken, don't break it. Technique, nine times out of ten, beats sheer power and in golf, it can win a game.

Learn the Correct Golf Swing

Basic golf insurance will ensure that equipment is covered in the case of theft or damage. Golfers can put their minds at rest, knowing that they can have a relaxing, yet exciting day out, without the worry of losing cash in the way of golf equipment. Risks to golfers here are if they do not have insurance and their equipment gets stolen, they are likely to lose a lot of cash!

Solid golf swing - In order to get it right every time, there are a few different fundamentals that you will need to master. Learning from lessons, videos or even an eBook can help you learn the correct golf swing.

Like they say, practice makes perfect. Practice your golf putting technique on the practice green, first at a distance of say, 3 feet. Then move further away until you are putting at a distance of say, 30 feet. When you are making putting stoke, always try to make a smooth pendulum type swing, keeping your grip light and constant throughout. As you practice, you will note that the longer the putting distance, the farther you need to take the putter away from the ball on the backswing.

You just want to remember that there are some flaws you don't want to develop with your swing. These include: gripping the club to tightly, taking the club too far to the inside and having what is known as an "over the top golf swing."

The key to the correct golf swing is to have a system that will show you repeatedly what the correct swing is. So that you can hit the ball exactly where you were aiming for every time, you will need to practice it until you have improved your swing.

The next thing that should be taken under consideration is the power you put behind your swing. Every young golfer has the basic problem or ambition to cover the green in a single shot. But that is not how it is. The initial shots should be taken with ease.

Swinging too hard can mess up the play. Do not go for it till you really have proper grip over the swing. If you want to have a powerful swing, first try to add grace in it.

Grips of Your Golf Clubs

It will all start with you knowing what level you are on. You should never be prideful to think that you are better than what you already are because this could keep you from taking advice from someone that is just trying to help you improve yourself; so don't cheat yourself.

If you know what level you are on as far as playing golf then you can be straight forward in telling someone who is training you that you might not be ready for the higher level that they are training you at. Taking golf training slow and easy with patience can help you to be more successful while playing the game. One important thing that you and your trainer should do is make sure to you get golf insurance in case an injury occurs while you are playing.

Of course, a golfer does not always need another golfer to help them improve. In some cases, a golfer could self train themselves to become better, but they will still need to use the structure laid out above. The key to learning quickly is simply following a simple structure and learning path. When exploring instruction, there are several things to keep in mind including your objectives, learning style and ability to practice.

Don't forget about the grips of your callaway diablo forged irons. Over time these can become worn and ripped and they will need to be replaced or refitted. Keep the grips dry as much as possible as well because water or dampness can cause them to get ruined or wear faster.

To lower your stroke out on the course, use Golf Grips that are suited to your style of play. If you over-grip the club, use a softer grip. If you are having trouble with your lower hand releasing, go for the Golf Pride Compounds. And remember, always use a grip enhancer to reduce moisture.

Most people want to be interactive when they have a day off and golf might not look like the perfect way to do this. The reality is that by taking a friend along to a local green, players can have huge amounts of fun and actually learn a few things along the way.

Purchasing Grips that Fit Your Game

After you have addressed the ball, stand up and relax your arms and shoulders. Now everything is parallel. Bend over from your hips, and extend the club to the ball, keeping your shoulders in the same position they are now.

A common golf swing fault is to "slice" the golf ball. For right handed golfers, a golf slice occurs when the golf ball starts left of the target once struck, but finishes well right of the target. The slice is one of the worse swing faults encountered on the course because it often results in a very poor position to hit the next shot and because there are many causes to the golf slice. Common causes of the golf slice include an open club face at impact, too "weak" of a golf grip, poor body weight transfer and/or an out-to-in or "over the top" swing.

The best place to start is to try and do as much research and learning without the help of paid support. In general, players can think back or even realise when they are playing, the part of the game that seems to be the problem. From here they can set up certain drills or practice routines which will help them to improve.

In addition to purchasing grips that fit your game, you should also be using a grip enhancer. There are no grips on the market offering reduced moisture in hot conditions. Quick Grip eliminates moisture on your hands and grips. Moisture reduction prevents the club from slipping and ultimately allows you to make better ball contact.

When you are golfing you need to have patience. You need to focus and visualize your golf swing. You need to think good thoughts and concentrate on what you have practiced. Golf is not all physical; it's a lot of mental preparation as well. A lot of people will just go out and hit the ball. Physical skill will only get you so far.

Why Make the Game Harder to Play

Grip down so there is about an inch of the handle sticking out past your left hand (right hand, for left-handed golfers). The extra length of the club puts a premium on balance, and gripping the club down at the very end of the handle can throw you off.

It never fails to amaze me how many amateurs move their ball position around in their stance depending on what iron they are hitting. Quite common is to move it progressively further back from the middle of the stance for the shorter irons and further and further forward from middle for the longer irons.

This means (in the most severe of cases) that a player could be hitting a 5 iron from two inches inside the target side heel (Left heel for right hand players and vice versa for lefties) and be hitting their PW off the back foot! This is an absolute non-sense!

Think about it like this. Every time you move the ball position in your stance you are asking your mind/body to square the callaway diablo forged irons in a different position which means you keep moving the goal posts! Why make the game harder to play? Remember we are talking about standard shots here and not specialty shots to extricate yourself from trouble.

In addition, every time you move the ball forward or back in your stance you are changing the effective loft of the club at impact. By playing a 9 iron further back in your stance than say the 7, you are shutting down the normal loft of a 9 iron which will mean you hit it lower and with more run than it should have.

The ball position for all normal shots, whether it is a full swing, a three-quarter swing or a chip shot, should be 3 inches inside your left heel for right hand players.

Swing Your Golf Club From This Position

For a full 5 iron you would have a wide stance and thus your sternum and centre of gravity will be behind the ball which will promote striking through the ball with a slightly flatter swing arc. (A more sweeping angle of attack with the club-head through the ball) In a chip shot with the feet closer together the ball may appear back in the stance but it should still be viewed and placed in relation to the front foot.

With this setup your sternum and centre of gravity will be forward of the ball (target side) as your weight favours your left side heavily and this will promote the necessary steeper angle of attack for a crisp chip shot.

If the leading hand is positioned too far on the left of the golf shaft, this will turn the club face open which will cause the ball to be hit from the outside-in, which will result in a golf slice.

Move farther back from the ball and swing your golf club from this position. Swinging in this awkward position will help you hit the ball squarely. This will also help build muscle memory on hitting the ball squarely.

You can also move your trailing foot (or right foot for right-handed people) a foot backwards. Next, swing the golf club from this position. You will not be able to hit the ball from the outside-in from this position.

Clear your mind of any anxiety, negativity, critical self-talk, fears, worries, doubt, and images of failure. These negative thoughts can cause triggers in your body that leads to unwanted wrist flinches, incorrect balance, or your golf swing to be out rhythm.

So replace this negative stream of thoughts with positive thoughts, successful images and emotions, and encouraging self-talk. Visualize your past winning golf shots and try to relive the feeling of executing your most perfect golf swing.
