Through Your Golf Swing and Try to Hit the Ball

With less time on the course, you have more time to go to the gym. Keep your golfing muscles toned by concentrating on light weights, cardio vascular and stretching.

This will help keep the body trim, increase your stamina, allow you to maintain & perhaps increase your flexibility, while also keeping the winter weight down. All of these help in both mental & physical fitness, which in turn helps us to continue to enjoy the game of golf.

If you play golf then I'm sure you have heard, and maybe you have experienced the putting yips. This is when you lose all feel and confidence on shorter putts and more often than not, results in you missing these short little 'gimme' putts. Well, a little less talked about than the putting yips, is the chipping yips.

This is when you stand over what should be a very easy and straight forward chip, but when you go through your swing and try to hit the ball with your taylormade r11 tp fairway wood you either hit it fat causing a heavy 'duff' shot, or you catch it half way up the ball hitting it thin and shooting it right over the green.

To gain better control of your swing and increase the accuracy of your golf shots, avoid over-hitting. You can train yourself to stop trying to kill the ball by doing more short shots.

Take a golf club and sit it upright in front of you touching the ground. Hold the top of the grip with one hand, while standing bring one leg up and put it across the opposite leg just above the knee. Keep your back straight and push your chest out as much as possible and hold for about 10 seconds.

Change sides and put the opposite leg over the other and hold again for 10 seconds. This is one of the best golf stretching exercises as it really warms up the glutes and the lower back.
