Playing the Short Chip Shot

Take your stance slightly open to the intended line of flight. Just a little bit. No more than 5 degrees. Being slightly open will let you get your left hip cleared better, and allow you to come into the ball with the right side a little more "underneath" the ball. The first gets the club down the target line more easily, and the second gets the ball in the air more easily.

Even though you are playing the short chip shot, play as though you were putting. This will stop the ball with ping g20 driver from bouncing when it comes out of the rough or from long grass. Each time you make a shot with your chipping putters keep thinking putt to yourself.
These five tips are little differences that will make a big difference literally overnight in the way you swing a golf club. One hour of practice is all you need to install them in your swing. They will give you a feeling of confidence, control, and ease, three characteristics of good golf.

If you look at the touring pro's putting statistics, you will notice that they will only 3 putt once, maybe twice during a tournament on average, this means that they are generally leaving their long range putts well within a comfortable distance of the hole so they can avoid 3 putting. You could also say that they are masters of the lag putt!!

As time is always so precious, it is of course important that you are not wasting it by aimlessly hitting ping g20 irons on the practice putting green without purpose, as this will get you nowhere fast.

The last thing to look at is if your forearms have crossed over during the follow through. This happens after impact. Your arms are fully extended and then the right forearm crosses the left in a right handed golfer. A good drill is to get some velcro straps and put them on your forearms. Get the velcro straps to touch and stick on your follow through. This drill will make your ping g20 fairway wood rotate through the ball properly and groove the proper pronation of the forearms.

So first you need to build a solid putting technique that will give you a great foundation to work from and then put in the time and effort practicing this putting technique with some effective putting drills.
